This year’s fall season promises to be an exciting one for the Susquehanna Valley Youth Chorale! Our theme is a “Season of Song”, and we are really looking forward to exploring the many seasons in music. We are especially excited to share a piece by Ola Gjeilo titled “Seasons”. You may remember this composer from the SVC performance of his “Sunrise Mass” last fall. He just writes gorgeous music! You can also look forward to songs by our prep chorus, as they sing “The Season Song”, and “Circles”, and the Camerata singers with S’Vivon, celebrating the season of Hannukah, and the classic text from Ecclesiastes, “To Everything There is a Season”, set to music by Jay Althouse. Our High school group, The Valley Singers, will present “The Flu Fugue”, all about cold and flu season, as well an acapella arrangement of  “Time after Time”, and the perennial favorite from the musical, “Rent”, “Seasons of Love”.

This promises to be a great afternoon of music, and we hope that you will be able to join us!

Our “seasons” will continue this year into the Christmas Season, as we once again join the SVC for “A Candlelight Christmas”. The Youth Chorale will be joining the Chorale on several numbers, including the beautiful John Rutter piece, “Candlelight Carol”. They will be featured in many of their own songs as well, climaxing with the singing of Carols and the ringing in of Christmas. It will be just the right concert to set your holiday “season” aglow! Don’t miss it!
