Veterans Day Youth Benefit Concert

Milton High School, Milton, PA
You're invited! Please join us as the Susquehanna Valley Youth Chorale (along with four regional high school vocal groups) prepares a unique patriotic celebration to honor U.S. military families and personnel. Children of our deployed military face ongoing challenges; we intend to increase awareness and financially support a program providing hope and direction to these children.

Our SVYC director, Valerie Flamini Caldwell of Selinsgrove, speaks personally -
"As the daughter of a Vietnam veteran, I have witnessed the sacrifice inherent in having a parent serve. Those families will be forever touched by the time given to fight for our country. We have a responsibility to our young citizens who do not have a choice in the matter and who make up a significant percentage of our population."
"Providing support for military kids to engage in the arts is a gift we give to ensure the education of their spirit. I am sure my involvement in music gave me meaningful direction and helped me reconcile the things that appear "unfair" to a child affected by war."
DID YOU KNOW?
- two million American children are directly affected by military service of a parent…
- economic hardship and distance from a military base for children of deployed National Guard and Reservist children mean fewer opportunities…
- you can help raise awareness and provide music, art, drama, athletic, and tutoring programs for children coping with this challenge?
